Feeling Mom's Tummy

Frequently Asked Questions

Answering all Your Questions

How will hiring you affect my partner’s role during the birth?

A doula will allow your partner to fill the role that they are most comfortable with. They will not take your partners' place and will provide support for them as well as be someone who can assist them with comfort measures for you. A doula will encourage them to sleep and eat when possible.

What are your interactions with medical staff like?

Our interactions are respectful and collaborative. We understand that they are your providers and we are here to help you navigate this experience. Many medical providers are very happy to see us arrive because they know that you will have someone with you who has a deep understanding of the birthing process.

Do you perform any physical examinations?

Absolutely not! We are not medical providers and it is out of our scope of practice to prove anything more than physical contact for comfort measures.
