Meet Your Doula

Andrea Vaughn, birth worker

My doula style is that of immense support coupled with a heightened intuition that allows me to identify my clients' needs. My ability to sense the individual support needed has always come naturally to me.  â€‹

My elders (who are now my ancestors) early on recognized my gift to hold space for people navigating life-changing events, and this inspiration led me to become a full-spectrum doula.

I am a certified birth and postpartum doula and am an aspiring midwife attending Commonsense Midwifery school in Orlando, Florida.

I have experience with co-sleeping, multiples, breastfeeding, special needs babies, IVF, single parents, teen parents, medicated/epidural, unmedicated/natural birth, water birth, domestic violence, belly birth (cesareans), and advanced maternal age.

My mission is to support ALL families regardless of age, race, gender, family structure, or birthing location.

Because of my own experience of having children, I know how important it is to have newborn care support and birthing support with a supportive partner/family or friends and how much more is needed when facing childbirth alone. Having someone with evidence-based knowledge and unbiased support to educate, advocate and comfort you is critical.

In a birthing experience surrounded by loving friends who wanted the best for me and made sure I had what I needed and wanted, I was at peace and able to adjust and cope with the changes happening in my body. The music, the movement, the contentment, the physical support - I felt safe even as I experienced the unknown of childbirth.

This feeling is what I bring to your birth experience as a doula. Whether it’s your first or last birth, I want you to labor with the love, support, and joy I had during childbirth. I was never alone during this time, and I want to give you the gift of never being alone during your birth process, to provide you with what YOU need. You will be treated with respect, understanding, and dignity.
